			<description><![CDATA[Another book which I highly recommend is The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls.  The opening paragraph describes when she, Jeannette, is on her way to a black tie function in New York City, where she is a successful journalist, and she sees her mother combing through the trash for her dinner.  The book is a memoir of sorts. It is very well written so that this tough subject matter is approachable.]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[I have just completed The Shadow of the Wind by Zafron. It is a Spanish novel which has been beautifully translated.  The story is a mystery of sorts which begins when a father takes his son to a &quot;bookstore&quot; to select a book.  It turns out that the boy has selected the only remaining copy of a book. All other copies have been burned under curious circumstances.  A very well written story.]]></description>
