Ann Whitley Wood

Ann Whitley Wood, a Stanford University grad who has a law degree from The University of Texas at Austin, quit her job as an appellate attorney at Dallas blue-chip firm Haynes and Boone in 2000 after her second of three children was born. As a buyer on eBay, she was dumbfounded by the volume
sellers were doing. Now she is an eBay Gold Level Powerseller, with average sales of $10,000 or more a month, and part of the hundreds of thousands of auctionistas who make a significant part- or full-time living on eBay.

Ms. Wood sells primarily for others on eBay on a consignment basis. She also offers some of her own inventory. She concentrates on luxury clothing, bags, shoes, accessories, antiques, china, crystal, silver, collectibles, and home items. You can find her listings at

Ms. Wood's eBay business has been recognized in BusinessWeek, Money, the Financial Times, Entrepreneur, the Dallas Morning News, FOX-TV and other media. She is a member of eBay's Voices of the Community program, and is active in lobbying to Congress on tax issues affecting eBay users.
