Literature to Life, The American Place Theatre's performance-based literacy program, presents professionally staged verbatim adaptations of significant American literary works. This educational program has received over 30 Obies and 16 Audelcos.

The Literature to Life program will, again, be presented to several Dallas independent schools as last year's performance and discuss of The Kite Runner was extremely well received by adults and students alike.

The Glass Castle, a New York Times best-seller for several years, is a unique memoir of survival and resiliency told through the eyes of a young girl who cherishes her dad's vision of a Glass Castle. Google says, "The Glass Castle is truly astonishing -- a memoir permeated by the intense love of a peculiar, but loyal, family. Jeannette Walls has a story to tell, and tells it brilliantly, without an ounce of self-pity."
